A Discord server can be a lot of work, but they are also a great way of connecting with your community and help you grow. The main thing you have to ask yourself is if you really want to make a server. If you end up taking a break from streaming that's fine, but still don't abandon your server. You need to be active in it and chatting. Even if you are only going to chat to one other person in there do it! The moment YOU stop chatting and disappear from the server the moment the server dies. Your interaction with the server is super important especially as a streamer because this is where your community gets to hang out and get to know you better.
Bots are a great way to add that extra fluff to your server. These are the main two I use in mine.
PatchBot is a super nice bot to help keep you updated on games patch notes right to your server!
Premium Includes
Mee6 used to be one of the best bots out there that could be used for Free, now its not really recommended for Free users as its starting to put things behind multiple paywalls and subscriptions.
Premium Cost $85 for a one time life time payment.
Pros: It has a lot of different features and allows for a lot of features under one bot.
Cons: You basically have to have premium to do anything and even then some extra features are locked behind a subscription where you don't have a life time payment ability.
Note: Research bots and find what is going to work best for your needs. There is no need spending money on bots when you might not need their features.
Video includes how to set up your server and even provides a free template.
